Our professors Saras Sarasvathy and Slavica Singer participated as keynote speakers at the 2024 Effectuation Conference in Nantes, France (connected to the RENT conference) on November 12 – 13, 2024. Saras talked about The State of the Entrepreneurial Method (New worlds, new research, new classrooms) and Slavica talked about New Classroom; Well-being of people and well-being of the planet (Giraffes, Galileo and Search for Relevant Knowledge). Additionally, in a Fireside Chat with Slavica and Saras, Saras interviewed Slavica about her and our experience of establishing educational programmes in entrepreneurship, especially the doctoral programme ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATIVENESS.
Everything was designed effectually (through co-creation and into action), even the dinner – in a rented restaurant, randomly selected teams had to plan on the spot what to do with available vegetables, meet, spices… We had two hours to make dishes from appetizers to desserts – a great effectual experience.
A vibrant discussion on effectuation as the entrepreneurial method, from perspectives of researching, learning and implementing in dealing with practical issues brought together researchers and educators across the world. And, it is a great opportunity to have Professor Sarasvathy in our team and it is an open invitation to our doctoral students to be more actively involved in this effectuation network www.effectuation.org
