This course introduces students to the terms business ethics and corporate social responsibility, with a special emphasis on significance of these categories of business behavior in small and medium enterprises. Business ethics and corporate social responsibility are seen as levers of achievement of sustainable competitiveness. The key topics are: standard of egoistic interest of rationality and traps in decision making; evolution-institutional approach to entrepreneurship – what business ethics has to do with it; development of business ethics; ethics in international business; social responsibility of the corporation; privatization and corporate management in Croatia; organizational ethics – relationships within the company; organizational ethics – relationships outside the company.
Course execution is based on intensive involvement of students in analysis of current cases from the field of business ethics and corporate social responsibility, and discussions with entrepreneurs who present their experience as guest lecturers.
