At the end of the calendar year, GPE organizes its traditional pre-Christmas party for students and professors. This year’s gathering, which also marked the tenth anniversary of the Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship was held in Hotel Waldinger in Osijek, on December 10, 2010. All the guests have received a small present, an interesting booklet with the retrospective of the most important and most interesting events that have marked and formed the program during its first ten years. Musical entertainment was provided by jazz duo Solitude from Osijek, which performed well-known jazz standards.

On December 4, 2010, eight graduation ceremony of Masters of Science of the Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship was held at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. Diplomas to new Masters of Science were handed out by Dean Željko Turkalj Ph.D., Vice Dean Vladimir Cini, Ph.D., and Head of the Program Slavica Singer, Ph.D.

Guest at the graduation was Željko Mavrović, former boxing champion and a sucessful businessman today, who was named Croatian Athlete of the Year twice (in 1995 and in 1997).

The IV International conference on entrepreneurship “Innovativeness+Entrepreneurship = Competitiveness”, will be held on October 29 and 30, 2010 at Hotel Osijek and in Business Incubator BIOS in Osijek. Conference is organized by Business Incubator BIOS and Centre for Entrepreneurship Osijek, and Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship is one of the co-organizers.

On Saturday, September 18, 2010, the start of the enrollment to the international inter-university postgraduate interdisciplinary doctoral program “Entrepreneurship and Innovativeness” was announced in the media and on the program’s webpage.  Prospective candidates can get all the additional information by phone: 031 224-467 or by email: psp@psp.efos.hr

European Entrepreneurship Educator Programme – 3EP Academy“ Summer School was organized during August (August 22-27, 2010) at the Turku School of Economics in Turku, Finland. The program was designed and implemented through cooperation of 4 partner institutions: National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (United Kingdom); Aarhus University – Aarhus Centre for Entrepreneurship (Demark), Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek – Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship (Croatia), and Turku School of Economics (Finland). The aim of the program is to promote entrepreneurship in higher education by enabling teaching staff at higher education institutions for entrepreneurial behaviour and utilization of innovative teaching methods. The Program is intended for lecturers or managers of centres and programs in higher education. This year’s program was attended by 43 participants from 16 European countries. The lecturing team from GPE in Entrepreneurship (S.Singer, PhD; S.Pfeifer, PhD; Sedlan Koenig, MSc) attracted a great deal of attention and was very well received by the attendants with its lecture on Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Skills and Attitudes, and workshop on the use of drama and communities of practice as teaching methods.
