Professor Slavica Singer, Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, University of Osijek, is the winner of this year’s The European Entrepreneurship Education Award.
The award is given by Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship with Lund University School of Economics and Management, Lund, Sweden, since 2012. The award is given annually to individuals or organisations that have contributed to the improvement of entrepreneurship education in academia in Europe. The purpose of the award is threefold: to highlight the importance of teaching in the area of entrepreneurship (in Europe), to stimulate and promote innovative teaching methods within the field and to diffuse the state of the art in entrepreneurial education among scientists, researchers, professors, policymakers, practitioners and all other stakeholders involved in entrepreneurship education at the university level.
Professor Slavica Singer is recognised as a person with a central role in the development of local and national entrepreneurship education and ecosystems in resource-scarce contexts. As stated by the award committee, Professor Slavica Singer has been a strong promoter of young entrepreneurship scholars and makes an important contribution to the European scientific community in entrepreneurship research.
The award committee concludes: “Given the invaluable impact on the development of entrepreneurship education both nationally and internationally, Slavica Singer is undoubtedly a worthy recipient of the 2021 European Entrepreneurship Educator Award.”
The award ceremony will be held, given the circumstances, online, within the 10th European Entrepreneurship Education Workshop 2021, 22-23 April, 2021, at which Professor Slavica Singer will also participate as the invited keynote speaker.
