Saras D. Sarasvathy, member of the faculty of our doctoral program ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATIVENESS at the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek, is the 2022 winner of the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research, which is presented to researchers who have a strong influence on research in the field of entrepreneurship.
Saras received this award “for pathbreaking research on entrepreneurial decision making and the entrepreneurial process”. Saras work on effectuation emphasizes how entrepreneurs operate based on available resources, think in terms of affordable loss rather than profit maximization, leverage trustworthy partnerships, and treat unforeseen contingencies as opportunities rather than problems, was for us confirmation that we are on the right track, and that not having much (in terms of resources) cannot limit our dreams and actions.
