Professor Gibb was a pioneer in research of entrepreneurship, SME management and entrepreneurship education. His definition of entrepreneurship goes beyond the business context; for him, entrepreneurship is a way of behaviour, acting and life necessary for everyone, in all contexts (business, public, educational, social, health, profit, non-profit, etc.) to overcome the high level of uncertainty and complexity in the environment. His concept of entrepreneurship is broad and refers to linking theoretical concepts (ideas) with practice (application), and to the belief that entrepreneurial behaviour is a tool by which we can make the world a better place to live.
Professor Allan Gibb significantly contributed to teh development of educational programmes in entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek and participated in the design of doctoral dissertations and co-mentoring of several doctoral students of the doctoral study Entrepreneurship and Innovativenes.
