Course introduces students to the concept of operational management, its role in company’s business activities, as well as to ways of improvement of company’s business activities, with a special emphasis on: measurement and control of existing operations; identification of areas for improvement: rational business activities (identification of “waste”, value flow analysis); quality analysis; IT projects identification; generation of improvement options: redesign / reengineering of systems; just-in-time operations; material requirement planning (MRP); implementation of improvements: constant improvement (Kaizen); project management; change management; overview and learning from the results; project management; team management; quality management.
Course significantly relies on use of examples and cases from practice.
